Chile to revise sanitary requirements for imported processed meat products

On 16 August 2022, Chile's Ministry of Agriculture issued a consultation document to revise the sanitary requirements for processed meat products from imported cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. The feedback period ends September 16, 2022. Main revisions include:
(1) Amended the definition of processed meat products in Resolution 3212/2022. Processed meat are prepackaged products made from beef, sheep, goat, pig and poultry meat alone or in combination ;

(2) Repealed Resolution 2602/2021 on the sanitary requirements for the import of prepared dishes containing ingredients of animal origin.
