16,500 cans of infant formula recalled in the US due to high vitamin D levels


According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), on August 8, 2024, the U.S. FDA issued a recall notification stating that Perrigo Company plc is recalling two infant formulas because the products contain vitamin D levels that exceed the maximum allowable level. Information on the recalled products is below:

The recalled products are named CVS Health Infant Premium Infant Formula with Iron and HEB Baby Infant Premium Infant Formula with Iron, with UPC codes 050428318034 and 041220164578, weighing 34 ounces and with a shelf life through November 2025, respectively. The product is available in HEB stores and CVS Health stores in 12 U.S. states.

 

No illnesses have been reported in connection with it. The FDA advises consumers that they should stop using the recalled product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
