Turkey proposed to formulate three food regulations

On August 12, 2024, the General Directorate of Food Safety and Control of Turkey issued Notice No. 585, 586, 587, proposing to formulate three food regulations, with the feedback period ending September 16, 2024. The details are as follows:

 

(1) “Food Hygiene Regulations”, the main contents include definitions and terms, general provisions, obligations of food operators (such as assuming the main responsibility for food safety), good practice guidelines, general requirements for food import and export, final terms, the annex also stipulates the general hygiene requirements for food primary production and related operations, and the general hygiene requirements for all food operators to comply with;

 

(2) "Food Enterprise Registration and approval Procedures Management Measures", including the need to apply for registration of food production enterprises to apply for registration to meet the requirements and material requirements, official approval procedures, follow-up verification supervision, registered enterprises change, cancellation and other provisions;

 

(3) “Special Hygiene Requirements for Food of Animal Origin”, the main contents of which include general provisions, registration and approval of enterprises producing and processing food of animal origin, management and use of health labels and inspection labels, management requirements for import and export food of animal origin, and final provisions, The annex sets out definitions and terminology, standards for the establishment of processing plants for different types of food of animal origin, slaughtering hygiene procedures, and key parameter requirements for processing food of animal origin.
