On August 9, 2024, the website of the British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) announced that the UK has updated the template for High-Risk Food and Feed of Non-Animal Origin (HRFNAO) Health Certificate (GBHC176 v4 August 2024), which includes:

(1) Adjustment of certificate format and layout, such as arrangement of tables and classification of information;

(2) The specific content of the health certificate section has been refined and clarified, including detailed descriptions of food and feed production requirements, as well as sampling, laboratory analysis and certification requirements for different contaminants (such as mycotoxins, pesticide residues, PCP and dioxins, salmonella, listeria, etc.);

(3) The period of validity of the certificate is specified, specifying that the certificate is valid for four months from the date of issue, but in no case shall the period of validity exceed six months from the date of the last laboratory analysis results;

(4) Some notes have been added, such as the retention of the regulation in the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) after the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, and instructions on the completion of certificates.
