On August 19, 2024, the Polish Agency for Agriculture and Food Quality Inspection released that the amendment to food labeling regulations, which amends the rules for informing consumers of alcoholic beverages, will come into force as of August 20, 2024.

The requirements for the use of the term "tincture" are specified and the actual alcohol concentration by volume in bars and restaurants is specified. From 20 August 2024, the name "tincture" is used and the goods must meet the requirements for spirits beverages: no added colors, flavorings and fruit juices, fruit concentrates or wine products; Immersion must be carried out for at least 15 days. At the same time, the regulation also requires that the alcohol content be indicated, and drinks with an alcohol content of more than 1.2% (by volume) do not apply to drinks prepared on the spot at the request of customers or alcoholic drinks in the form of cocktails.
