US exempts residual limits for lactic acid and L-lactic acid

On August 29, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued Regulation 2024-19456 exempting lactic acid and L-lactic acid from residual limits.

 

According to the regulations, L-lactic acid is exempt from residue limits when it is used as a fruit and vegetable detergent in all unprocessed agricultural products.

 

This rule takes effect on August 29, 2024, and requests for objections or hearings must be filed by October 28, 2024.
