The Czech Republic amended the regulations on the registration of imported food information

On August 26, 2024, the Czech Agricultural and Food Inspection Agency issued a notice that from September 1, 2024, Regulation 235/2024 will enter into force, amending the requirements of the original Regulation 172/2015 on the registration of imported food information.

 

The regulation mainly covers food categories such as apples, potatoes, dietary supplements, and stipulates that importers or distributors of relevant foods should declare information and register with the competent authorities when importing/selling such foods from other EU countries or third countries for the first time, as well as the corresponding requirements and procedures. Information that must be provided includes food type, quantity, country of origin, importer and exporter, date of arrival, etc. The revision mainly Narrows the list of relevant food types.
