India issued testing requirements for imported food samples

On August 21, 2024, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued testing requirements for imported food samples. The main contents are:

 

(1) The sample shall be tested within 5 days and the test report shall be generated and uploaded to the FICS (Food import Customs Clearance System) portal;

 

(2) The test report should be submitted to ensure that the test parameters and food categories meet the requirements;

 

(3) Test report with NABL (Indian Laboratory Conformity Assessment Agency) symbol; Signed by a duly appointed food analyst;

 

(4) The laboratory does not test samples that are not covered by NABL certification, and can only test food samples using proven and approved methods.
