On September 4th, a netizen claiming to be a former employee of Shenzhen Sushiro Catering Co., Ltd. posted a report alleging that Sushiro stores have been providing customers with expired and spoiled food for a long time.
The netizen reported that during the store's operation, the management, in order to reduce product wastage, consistently served guests with expired and spoiled food, leading to numerous customer complaints that went unaddressed. Photos posted by the netizen showed obvious color differences among different meat slices.
On the same day, the netizen revealed to the media that the Shenzhen Market Regulation Bureau had already intervened in the investigation. Later in the evening, the media contacted the Shenzhen Market Regulation Bureau for an interview regarding this matter, but as of press time, no response had been received.
Sushiro is a renowned Japanese conveyor belt sushi brand. On September 4th, Sushiro officially responded that the company had launched an internal investigation into the veracity of the allegations. Sushiro stated that it had a stringent management policy regarding ingredients and that there was no instruction for staff to serve customers with ingredients beyond their expiration dates. Multiple employees from various Shenzhen stores revealed that the company was in the midst of investigating the matter.
