Korea issued partial revision order of Low Salt, Low Sugar Labeling Standard to increase applicable targets

On October 17, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea issued Notice No. 2024-63, amending part of the Low Salt, Low Sugar Labeling Standard, with the following main contents:

 

Addition of applicable objects: Dry noodles, boxed lunches, hamburgers, sandwiches, and pizzas are added to the products to which the Low Salt Labeling Standard can be applied, and , cakes, muffins, pies, ice cream, ice milk, frozen juice drops, iced fruits, coffee [Liquid Coffee (for products containing dairy products only)], and lactobacillus beverages are added to the products to which the Low Sugar Labeling Standard can be applied.
