FSANZ released Amendment No.233 to Food Standards Codex

On October 29, 2024, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published the Official Bulletin on Amendment No.233 to the Food Standards Code of Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), with the main revised standards being:

  

  Standard 1.1.2 Definitions used throughout the Code

  

  Standard 1.2.3 Information requirements: warning statements, cautionary statements and claims

  

  Standard 1.2.7 Nutrition, health and related claims

  

  Criterion 1.2.8 Nutrition information requirements

  

  Standard 2.6.2 Non-alcoholic beverages and brewed soft drinks

  

  Schedule 2 Units of Measure

  

  Schedule 4 Nutrition, Health and Related Claims

  

  Schedule 11 Calculation of Nutrition Information Labeling Values

  

  Schedule 18 Processing Aids

  

  Schedule 25 Permitted Novel Foods

  

  

The scope of application of these amendments is set out below:

  

  A1247-Approval of D-allulose as a novel food

  

  A1284-Approval of triacylglycerol lipase from genetically modified Trichoderma reesei as a processing aid

  

  P1063-Code amendment (2024)-Adds a declaration for sugar
