Canada approved leucyl aminopeptidase from Aspergillus oryzae AT1088 for use in a variety of foods

On October 30, 2024, Health Canada issued M-FAA-24-13, a proposed amendment to the list of permitted food enzymes, approving leucyl aminopeptidase from Aspergillus oryzae AT1088 for use in a wide variety of breads, Colby cheeses, dairy-based flavoring preparations, flours, hydrolyzed yeasts, meat tenderizing preparations, ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, all types of bakery products other than bread, whole wheat flour, yeast extracts, and all types of plant-based foods such as dairy, egg, meat, fish, seafood or poultry products.

  

This amendment is effective as of October 30, 2024
