On November 6, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea announced that the raw material Pyropia haitanensis gene, which is prohibited for use in food, was detected in a laver powder product produced and processed by a Korean company, and ordered it to stop sales and recall the product.
Subject to recall: 4 types of laver powder products produced with imported laver.
