On the morning of November 2, 2024, Vietnam's National Institute of Food Safety and Hygiene Testing (NIFHT) held a ceremony to establish the Food Safety Risk Assessment Center.
The center aims to identify and assess food safety risks, provide advice on risk management, participate in the development of technical standards, establish an information collection network, and conduct training and international cooperation. Do Xuan Xuan, Deputy Minister of Health of Viet Nam, emphasized the importance of food safety and made specific operational requirements for the Centre, including resource development, risk assessment, standard setting, information collection and provision of management advice.
