On November 8, 2024, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) issued Notice 315-24 approving the use of 2-methyloxolane as a processing aid (specifically for use as an extraction solvent) in food (Proposal No. A1260), and specifying the maximum residue levels for this substance in various food categories, as shown in the table 4 below. The Notice will enter into force upon publication in the Australian Government Gazette.
