Russia's exports of sweet biscuits to China rose by 50% year-on-year to about 3,400 tonnes in the first ten months of 2024, placing it in second place among the major exporters of sweet biscuits to China, Rosoboronexport told the SPUTNIK.
In the same period in 2023, China purchased about 2,300 tonnes of sweet biscuits in Russia.
In January-October 2024, China purchased about 3,400 tonnes of Russian sweet biscuits, according to China's General Administration of Customs. In physical terms, Russia entered the top two suppliers of such flour confectionery, ahead of Denmark, Malaysia and Belgium. In first place was Indonesia - 14,200 tonnes, Rosoboronexport said.
On June 24, the Russian Centre for the Development of Agricultural Exports told the satellite news agency RosAgroExport that bilateral trade in agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs between Russia and China would grow by 33.9% in 2023 to $11.1 billion (9.4 million tonnes). Chinese exports of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs to Russia grew by 5.8% to $2.3 billion (1.2 million tonnes). Russian exports of agricultural products to China have grown 1.7 times in six years. On 22 November, Russia's agricultural exports to China will grow by at least 20% in 2024, Sulana Radnaeva, General Director of Sinoruss Legal Consulting Company, told Sputnik at a round table on "Development of the food industry in China".
