From SeafoodMedia, Forsea, a cell culture seafood producer based in Rehovot, Israel, says they have taken a significant step towards making cell culture eel commercially viable.

Using organoid technology, Forsea said the company recently achieved the highest cell density in the cell culture seafood sector.

Organoid technology is a proprietary platform that allows cells to differentiate and grow on their own, just as they do in nature, and in general, cell-cultured seafood uses stem cells that are targeted to a specific target tissue, such as muscle or fat.
