On December 13, 2024, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the 2025 Guidance for Reporting on National Control Plans for Residues of Veterinary Drugs. The main elements include:

(1) The document is used for reporting samples planned under the National Control Plans for Residues of Veterinary Drugs (NCPs) to EFSA. It provides guidance on how to use the data model to submit such data and related information to the EU;

(2) Provides basic terminology for food, feed and non-food animal matrices. It specifies the required fields such as the number of events (totalEvents) for each commodity group and substance group plan and the requirements for filling in technical indicators related to veterinary residue control such as the limit of detection results (resLOD) and the limit of quantification of results (resLOQ).
