In order to cope with food price volatility and protect the purchasing power of households, Morocco has exempted imported rice from customs duties and value-added tax (VAT) from January 1, 2025 until the end of 2025, involving a quota of 55,000 metric tons, according to the Moroccan newspaper Les Inspirations ECO.
