According to VnExpress, Vietnam's lobster exports to China have increased sevenfold year-on-year, with net revenues of $179 million in the first nine months of this year.

China accounted for 90 percent of Vietnam's total lobster exports in the first nine months of this year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Le Hang, director of VASEP, said the demand for seafood in China will further increase as the Lunar New Year festival approaches. Lobsters account for more than 5 percent of Vietnam's total seafood exports each year, she said. Under the Agriculture Ministry's plan, Vietnam will farm 3,000 tons of lobsters for export, aiming for an annual turnover of about $200 million.

Including shrimp, the country earned nearly $3.4 billion from crustacean aquatic product exports in the first nine months of 2021, up 23 percent from the same period last year, VASEP said.
