South Korea plans to revise the implementation rules of aquatic product quality certification

On December 22, 2022, the Korean National Institute of Fishery Quality issued Announcement No. 2022-94, intending to revise the "Implementation Rules for Aquatic Product Quality Certification". 


The main contents of the revision are: 


(1) Add specific quality and sensory evaluation standards and inspection methods for dried and salted aquatic products under the general quality standards for aquatic products; 


(2) Add volatile salts in frozen red snow crab meat The base nitrogen limit is set at 15mg/100g, and the volatile base nitrogen limit in salted mackerel is set at 30mg/kg;


 (3) It is stipulated that the moisture content of dried oyster meat should not exceed 20%. The feedback period for this announcement ends on January 10, 2023.
