SPUTNIK, Moscow, February 21. According to the "Daily Telegraph" report, due to poor harvests in supplying countries, British residents are facing a shortage of tomatoes.

It should be noted that in winter, the UK receives its tomato supplies from Morocco, the Netherlands and Spain. After Brexit, buyers have relied heavily on imports from Morocco.

The lack of the food in UK stores this year is due to poor harvests in major suppliers, with crops in Morocco suffering from floods and low temperatures and Spanish crops suffering from prolonged cold weather. Tighter export restrictions in Morocco and higher fertilizer prices following the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine also had an impact.
