According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on 20 March 2023, the agency issued Notice 235-23, with Application A1270, for approval of genetically modified maize line DP51291 for food use.

It is understood that the application was submitted by Corteva Agriscience Australia Pty Ltd and that the genetically modified maize strain DP51291 tolerates herbicides and is also resistant to insects.
