On April 11, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 33 of 2023, announcing that the import of Spanish fresh persimmons that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed from now on. Orchards, packaging plants and cold treatment facilities exported to China must be audited and filed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain (hereinafter referred to as "the Spanish side"), and jointly approved and registered by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as "the Chinese side") and the Spanish side. The registration information includes name, address and registration number, so as to accurately trace the source when the exported goods do not meet the relevant regulations of this quarantine requirement. Before the start of trade, the Spanish side should provide China with a registration list, which will be published on the official website after China's review and approval, and updated regularly.

At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, quarantine treatment requirements, etc.
