GACC Announcement No. 35 of 2023 (Announcement on Plant Quarantine Requirements for the Import of Kiwi Berry from France)

On April 14, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Notice No. 35 in 2023, announcing that the import of fresh French kiwi berry fruit that meets relevant requirements will be allowed from the same day. The fruit orchards, packaging plants and cold treatment facilities exported to China shall be examined and filed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of the French Republic (hereinafter referred to as "the French side") and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as "the Chinese Side").


Registration information should include the name, registration number and address (district or area) of the orchard, packing plant and cold treatment facility. In case of any change or update of the registration list, the French side shall provide it to the Chinese side before the annual export season, and the list of approved enterprises shall be published on the website of the GACC. 


The announcement also details the requirements for import, including packaging requirements, quarantine requirements, etc.
