Russia says it is ready to resume wheat supplies to Vietnam

During the visit to Hanoi, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, told reporters at the secretariat that Russia is ready to resume wheat supplies to Vietnam and increase meat exports.

 

"On bilateral food cooperation, Russian companies are ready to resume wheat supplies and increase exports of meat products," Medvedev stressed. This could be an important factor in ensuring food security in Vietnam."

 

Russia has a large share of Vietnam's meat market. The country is the largest foreign buyer of Russian pork, accounting for nearly 50 percent of its exports.

 

Victoria Valla, Russia's agriculture commissioner to Vietnam, As for wheat, Gorshkova noted that Vietnam was willing to accept Russian wheat after a long interruption in its supply.
