On May 22, 2023, the official website of the Peruvian Congress reported that the Peruvian Congress Committee on Consumer Protection, Public Services and Regulatory Institutions unanimously passed a bill (Ley N.°3933/2022-CR).

The bill will amend Article 10 of the Decree on Healthy Eating for Children and Adolescents (Ley N.°30021) concerning food packaging warning information, prohibiting the placement of easily removable information stickers on the packaging. Warning information must be clearly marked on the label and must not be obscured by any content. But the proposal makes a distinction between products for export and those produced by SMEs, as it allows for warnings to be marked through the use of hard-to-remove adhesives and according to a mechanism specified by the National Institute for Quality (INACAL).
