On June 1st, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 60 of 2023, announcing that Macau meat products that meet relevant requirements will be allowed to be imported to the Mainland of China starting from that day.
The permitted Macau meat products imported to the Mainland of China refer to raw or cooked meat products made from primarily livestock or poultry meat or their edible by-products, with or without additional ingredients, processed through techniques such as pickling, curing, salting, marinating, steaming, boiling, smoking, roasting, baking, drying, deep-frying, shaping, fermenting, and seasoning.
At the same time, the announcement also specifies the relevant requirements that must be met for importation, including production and processing process requirements, certification requirements, packaging, storage and transportation requirements, among others.
