On 8 June 2023, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) issued Circular 245-23, with application A1265, for comment on the voluntary use of four human milk oligosaccharide components as nutrients in infant formula.
It is understood that the four ingredients are 2' -fucosyllactose/dicfucosyllactose (2'-FL/DFL) mixture, lactose n-tetrasaccharide, 6' -sialactose sodium salt and 3' -sialactose sodium salt, which are produced by microbial fermentation.
The comment period closes at 6pm (Canberra time) on 7 July 2023.
