Thailand has issued 2 food standards

On August 21, 2023, the Thai Food and Drug Administration issued two food standards. The details are as follows:

 

1. Bulletin No. 441, Standard for Chocolate and Chocolate Products. The main contents include product definition and classification, physical and chemical parameters and sensory indicators of various types of chocolate and chocolate products, health standards and heavy metal limit requirements (see the table below for some), the use of raw materials and food additives, product packaging and labeling requirements;

 

2. Bulletin No. 442, the Cocoa Bean Standard, The main contents include product scope and definition, physicochemical and quality standards (such as odor, foreign matter not exceeding 0.75%, moisture content less than 7.5%) (The label should be marked with the product name, quality grade size, net weight, name and address of the manufacturer, packer, importer or exporter, country of origin, batch and production date and shelf life, etc.).

 

The above standards will come into force on the date of publication of the Thai Government Gazette.
