Recently, the government of Panama and the government of China signed the Protocol on Inspection and Quarantine of Wild Aquatic Products exported from Panama to China, which is the second protocol signed between the two sides in the field of aquatic products exported to China.

Panama's ANP news agency reported that on September 15, during the "Belt and Road" Customs food safety cooperation seminar held in Nanning, China, Panama's Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Development Augusto Ramón Valderrama held bilateral talks with Lv Weihong, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs of China. The two sides signed the Protocol on Inspection and Quarantine of Wild Aquatic Products exported from Panama to China.

With the signing of this protocol, Panamanian beef, pork, poultry, farmed and wild aquatic products, pineapples, coffee, cocoa, fish meal and other products have knocked on the door of the Chinese market.

Valderrama's current visit to China is intended to enhance trade exchanges between Panama and China, expand markets for Panamanian food companies and further expand Panamanian agricultural exports to China.
