On November 27, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea announced that South Korea has formulated the "Alternative Food Labeling Guidelines" to ensure that operators who label "alternative food" on products similar to animal-based foods that are produced using plant-based raw materials should comply with the relevant and relevant methods.

Alternative food: The use of plant raw materials, microorganisms, edible insects, cell cultures and other substitutes for animal raw materials to produce and sell food with similar shape, taste, and texture to existing food.

The guidelines apply to situations where operators of alternative foods that produce, process, import or repackage alternative foods label alternative foods on containers or packages of alternative foods.

Items that need to be labeled include: the term "alternative food" must be clearly labeled on the main display of alternative food, the name of the product should not be mistaken for animal food, and whether it contains animal ingredients.

In addition, the guide details the labeling of alternative foods.
