On 31 December 2023, the China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), together with the National Health Commission (NHC) and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM), issued the "Announcement on the Release of the Catalogue of Raw Materials of Ginseng and Two Other Health Food Products", the original text is as follows:

According to the “Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China”, “Measures for the Administration of Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials and Catalogue of Health Care Functions”, etc., the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), in conjunction with the National Health Commission (NHC) and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM), formulated "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials  Ginseng", "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials  Xiyangshen" and "Catalogue of Health Food Raw Materials  Ganoderma lucidum". It is hereby promulgated and shall come into force on 1 May 2024.
