FSANZ approved GM banana strain QCAV-4 for food use

According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on 15 February 2024, FSANZ issued Notice 281-24, in which it approved application A1274, which is to allow the use of genetically modified banana strain QCAV-4 for food.

 

The product is understood to be genetically modified to resist the fungal disease Fusarium Wilt Tropical Race IV (TR4).
