United States revised Alaska pollock product standard

On April 2, 2024, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) revised the Alaska Pollock Product Standard, effective as of the date of publication. Main contents:

 

(1) All pollock product processors must comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and U.S. Department of Commerce (USDC) Seafood Inspection Program requirements and be approved, Compliance with 21CFR Part 101 - Labeling, 21CFR Part 117, 21CFR Part 123, 50CFR Parts 260 and 261 Need to obtain on-site audit certification of aquatic product inspection program; All aquatic subcontractors, suppliers and contractors shall implement a food protection plan;

 

(2) Traceability information of the product, including the production batch number and the corresponding production date of each batch, the enterprise number, the quantity of each batch and the total net weight;

 

(3) Frozen cod fillet or block shall meet the United States frozen fish fillet block Grade Class A standards;

 

(4) Foods entering the market must comply with all applicable labeling laws and regulations. Meet the requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture procurement procedures, transport container seal with corrosion resistance and serial number, transport to the destination must not be changed;

 

(5) Storage time shall not exceed 12 months at -18℃;

 

(6) Protein containing milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, nuts, wheat, peanuts, soy, sesame and one of the relevant food ingredients, except highly refined, should be subject to allergen declaration;

 

(7) Alaska Pollock block verification. documentation from Alaskan cod should be provided: name and address of raw material supplier, no additives, storage time not exceeding 12 months at -18 ° C, and other relevant traceability information.
