Recently, a dairy factory in the Marche region was suspected of adulterating its products, and about 200 tons of milk and dairy products were seized by law enforcement officials.

Comprehensive Italian Ilrestodelcarlino network, Today.com reported that on Monday (22nd), the Pesaro province of the Marche region gendarmerie combined with the quality inspection department, anti-fraud department and other local dairy company launched a raid, seized about 90 tons of milk and 100 tons of dairy products, with a total value of nearly 800,000 euros. It also seized about 2.5 tons of chemicals and sampled the products for further testing.

According to reports, the investigation involves the Fattorie Marchigiane dairy, its parent company Trevalli Cooperlat and a logistics company, with 10 people currently under investigation. The companies involved have expressed their full cooperation with the investigation.

The case stems from a labor dispute. The matter surfaced when an employee who was fired by Trevalli explained his work to the inspectorate.

The employee claimed that the factory used caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) and hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) to treat spoiled milk or dairy products, adjusting the acidity of the product before putting it on the market.

The employee stated that he had not purchased the company's products since learning these details.

In fact, the company's products have received numerous authoritative certifications, and the certifications are always updated according to the latest safety and quality standards. If there was no dereliction of duty on the part of the certification department, it would mean that the finished product has not been tested for problems, according to the report. As a result the health department has not yet issued a product recall.

The employee also said that the caustic soda was neutralized with the acid, making it difficult to be detected during the quality control process.

Trevalli said in a statement that the company's sanitation is ideal and that no abnormalities have been detected in the products that have been put on the market.
