On 3 May 2024, the Official Journal of the European Union published a notice amending the Authorisation Regulation (EU) 2023/2465 of the Commission of 17 August 2023 and supplementing Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Criteria for the sale of Eggs, and repeal Commission Regulation (EC) No 589/2008. Correction of the terms referred to in Article 11, paragraph 2 (a), mainly in Annex I to page 12 of (EU) 2023/2465.

(1) The type of eggs is clear, and eggs are divided into free-range eggs according to different farming methods: free-range eggs, barn eggs (eggs produced by hens in chicken houses), and eggs produced by caged laying hens;

(2) Compare the 24 language versions that may be involved in the above egg types in the EU Member States to ensure consistency of terminology.
