India proposed to revise alcoholic beverages standards

On June 21, 2024, the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued a consultation paper proposing to amend the Food Safety Standards (Alcoholic Beverages) Regulations, with a comment period ending in 60 days. 


Key point: It is proposed to revise the maximum value of ethyl acetate in alcoholic beverages from 0.2g/l to 3g/l.
