On July 19, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 86 of 2024, announcing that from now on, Tajikistan's fresh persimmon that meets the relevant requirements will be allowed to import.

Persimmon orchards and packaging plants exported to China shall be reviewed and filed with the Food Safety Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan and approved for registration by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. The registration information includes name, address and registration number, etc., so as to accurately trace the export goods when they do not comply with the relevant provisions of this announcement. Before the annual export season, Tajikistan shall provide the GACC with the list of enterprises, which shall be published on the website of the GACC after being examined and approved by the Chinese side.

At the same time, the announcement also detailed the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, plant quarantine certificate requirements.
