GACC Announcement No. 88 of 2024 (Announcement on Phytosanitary Requirements for Import of Solomon Islands Coffee Beans and cocoa Beans)

On July 22, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 88 of 2024, announcing that from now on, Solomon Islands coffee beans and cocoa beans that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed to import.


Solomon Islands Coffee Beans, Cocoa Beans, refers to unroasted shelled coffee (Coffea arabica L.), cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) seeds grown and processed in the Solomon Islands. The skin, pulp, inner peel and silver skin have been removed and made by drying, screening and other processes.


The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Solomon Islands shall inspect the production and processing enterprises of unroasted coffee beans and cocoa beans exported to China, confirm that they meet the requirements of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side), and recommend them to the Chinese side. The Chinese side will conduct an audit and register the enterprises that pass the audit.


At the same time, the announcement also details the relevant requirements for imports, including production requirements, packaging requirements, transportation requirements, etc.
