ByteDance responds to large-scale food poisoning: Measures have been taken to support all affected employees

On July 31, according to multiple local media outlets in Singapore, a suspected mass food poisoning incident occurred at ByteDance's Singapore office on Tuesday afternoon (July 30) local time. After having Chinese-style buffet lunch in the canteen, many employees felt unwell, with at least 60 people experiencing symptoms of gastroenteritis, and 57 of them seeking medical treatment in hospitals.


Subsequently, a spokesperson for ByteDance told reporters, "We attach great importance to the health and safety of our employees. The company has immediately taken measures to support all affected employees, including cooperating with emergency response departments to provide medical care for them. Currently, the company is cooperating with relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the accident."
