According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on August 1, 2024, FSANZ issued Notice 298-24, in which it approved application A1287, which is to allow the use of genetically modified maize strain MON94804 for food.

The product is known to be genetically modified to reduce overall plant height.
