On August 1, 2019, the Office of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration solicited the public opinions on the National Standard Edible Blend Oil (Draft for comment). The Draft clarifies that pre-packaged and bulk edible oil should be clearly labelled with the name and proportion of the raw material oil and whether or not the genetically modified raw materials are used. The deadline for comments is September 30, 2019.
On August 2, 2019, the National Health Commission issued the National Food Safety Standards Project Plan in 2019, in total 57 standards are planned to be formulated or revised, including 2 food product standards, 10 quality specification standards for food additives, 1 food-related product standard, 7 production and operation practice standards and 37 inspection methods and procedures standards.
On August 9, 2019, China National Centre for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) solicited public opinions on 8 novel food additives, including 5 enzyme preparations for food industry, 1 food additive with expanded usage, 1 processing aid for food industry with expanded usage and 1 Food fortifier with expanded usage.
The deadline for public opinions is September 6, 2019.
