On November 3, the General Administration of Customs issued the Notification on the Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for the im
port of Uzbekistan's dried chili peppers. Since the date of this notification, it allows the im
port of Uzbekistan's dried Chili peppers that meet the quarantine requirements.
1. Inspection and quarantine basis:

2. Product allowed to enter: It is a product made from edible red Chili peppers (Cápsicum ánnuum) grown in Uzbekistan and processed by natural drying or other drying processes.
3. Production facility requirements: The production enterprises and storage warehouses of dried chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China must be recommended by the Uzbek side, and reported to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC) for registration.
4. Phytosanitary requirements:
(1) The dried chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China should comply with China's phytosanitary laws and regulations.
(2) Dried Chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China must not carry the following quarantine pests: Orobanche spp., Lo
ngidorus elo
ngatus (de Man) Thorne & Swanger removed, Verticillium dahliae Klebahn, Olpidium brassicae (Woronin) PA Dang., Tomato spotted wilt tospovirus.
(3) Dried Chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China must not co
ntain live insects, soil, weed seeds, plant residues, gravel and other impurities.
5. Phytosanitary certificate requirements
The Uzbekistan official shall issue a phytosanitary certificate for each batch of dried Chili peppers exported to China that meets the requirements of the protocol, and indicate in the additio
nal statement of the certificate: “Dried chilli peppers for which this phytosanitary certificate is issued to comply with the requirements of the Protocol of phytosanitary requirements for the Export of Dried Chilli Pepper from Uzbekistan to China, signed on 1 July, 2020, in Beijing and Tashkent, between the Chinese and the Uzbek parties”
6. Food Safety Requirements
The dried chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China shall comply with China's food safety laws and regulations and Chinese natio
nal food safety standards.
7. Packaging Requirements
Each dried chili peppers packaging box should be marked with English information such as name, place of origin (district, city or county), country, plantation and its registration number, production company and its registration number of dried chili. "本产品输往中华人民共和国" must be marked in Chinese on each tray.
8. Others
The dried chili peppers exported from Uzbekistan to China should come from production enterprises that have obtained Chinese registration. For the list of registered Uzbekistan exporters of dried pepper to China, please check the website of the General Administration of Customs.
