Thailand releases national standards for solid plant tea
On May 13, 2021, Thailand's Public Health Ministry issued Notice No. 426, namely National Standards for Solid Plant Tea.
The main content of the standard includes product definition and classification, physical and chemical indicators such as moisture content, hygiene standards such as microorganisms, pesticide residues, and pollutants that products should comply with, requirements for the use of food additives (flavoring substances must not be added), special requirements for packaging and labeling, and strictly prohibited Provisions for the addition of drugs and narcotic ingredients, etc. The appendix lists the raw materials allowed to be used in the production of solid plant tea beverages, including the scientific name, permitted parts and other regulations.
This standard applies to domestic and imported related products that are sold in Thailand, and will take effect the day after the bulletin is issued.
