South Korea and China signed agreement for importing kimchi HACCP

On September 27, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) signed a agreement with the State Administration of Market Regulation of China (SAMR) on September 27 to implement the food safety management certification standards for imported kimchi (hereinafter referred to as HACCP).

The main content of the agreement is to stipulate the HACCP certification standards, investigations, evaluations, methods and procedures for cabbage kimchi exported from China to Korea.

The certification, investigation, and evaluation work is solely responsible for the Korean Food Safety Management Certification Institute, and the certification standard will adopt the Korean HACCP standard.

In the future, the certified HACCP applicable companies will be surveyed and evaluated more than once a year, and only qualified companies can continue the certification.

The certification process is carried out in the order of application acceptance, document review, on-site evaluation (in cooperation with a recognized certification body in China), and issuance of certification.
