Brazil approves melatonin as a food supplement
On October 14, 2021, Brazil's National Health Supervision Agency (ANVISA) approved the use of melatonin substances to formulate food supplements, specifically for people over 19 years old, with a maximum daily consumption of 0.21mg. Melatonin supplement must contain a warning that pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and people whose jobs require sustained attention activity should not consume the product.
