Indonesia issues new regulations on processed food labelling claims
The Food and Drug Administration of Indonesia issued Claims Regulations for Labeling and Advertising of Processed Foods, which will come into effect on January 14, 2022.

The regulations stipulate that the types of claims on the label can include: nutrition claims, health claims, isotonic claims, vegetarian claims, and claims related to microorganisms. The regulations regulate in detail nutrient content claims, nutrient content comparison claims, no added sugar/salt claims, lactose claims, gluten claims, nutrient function claims, glycemic claims, vegetarian claims and isotonic claims.
Types of claims other than those specified in the regulations require an assessment application to be submitted to the Office of Food Standards.
