Argentina Amends Regulations on Inspection of Products and Products of Animal Origin
On January 21, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina published Resolution No. 8 No. 668/2021 on the website of the Official Gazette, amending the Regulations on the Inspection of Animal Origin Products, By-products and Their Products. The main contents are as follows:
(1) The Food Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is redefined to be responsible for slaughterhouses, processing production, importers and exporters, and technical services for all those involved in the sale of animal-derived foods. Responsible for the health and safety of the products;
(2) Amend registered manufacturers must: comply with and ensure the requirements and regulations contained in this regulation, have procedures documented, trained personnel to conduct veterinary inspections, perform inspections, provide samples for analysis, provide conditions required for veterinary inspections, breach prescribed processing requirements, etc.;
(3) Obligations of technical director;
(4) Requirements for procedural documents such as hazard analysis and critical control point plan.
The resolution shall enter into force on the 90 days following that of its publication in the Official Gazette.
