Russia supplies quarter of meat products to China

According to an overview of the Russian meat market, China became the main buyer of Russian meat from January to November 2021.

Russia exported more than 480,000 tons of meat (including poultry) from January to November 2021.

At present, the main consumer of Russian meat is China, with a quarter (27.5%) of meat supplied to China, which is 132,630 tons. In addition, the main buyers are Vietnam (20.4%), Ukraine (12.3%), Kazakhstan (8.2%), Belarus (7.3%) and Saudi Arabia (6.1%).

Total pork exports accounted for about 25% of total meat exports, while beef accounted for less than 10%.

Poultry meat exports from January to November were around 272,000 tons or $472 million. China is the largest buyer of Russian poultry meat. More than 112,000 tons of poultry meat were supplied to China from January to November. Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Armenia are also big buyers.
